Tourist today, missionary tomorrow?

Well an update on the visa situation. Tuesday morning we headed out to the Immigration office to collect our extended tourist visas...for which they provided a nice little card. So we are now eligible to stay here for another month, during which time we need to get all our documents together in order to apply for our missionary visas.

Missionary....sometimes I find it kinda funny when I tell people that I'm a missionary....as far as I'm concerned nothing has changed, I'm still the same old chump, Steve Scott. But maybe that's the point isn't it, there isn't something supernatural or some trick to being a missionary, being a missionary is simply being yourself, answering to God's call on your life to be an ambassador for Christ wherever you are.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 - we are all missionaries, ambassadors for Christ. The supernatural occruence has already happened when you were reconciled to God. Changing the post code doesn't make the missionary, you are Christ's ambassador where you are.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
