WE'RE BACK!!

Dear blog

I can't tell you how good it feels to be back. After a week filled with meetings and preparations we got back on the University campuses full time this week and man it was great (And man I'm also tired...). After spending a good part of last week and the weekend getting ready, Sarah and I trooped off to campus first thing Monday morning to try and secure a table to put at the entrance of the university for the week. We managed to secure it for Tuesday and on, so spent the rest of the day getting our feet wet... hanging out, re-connecting with a few students and praying. And man we need prayer. To be honest as I sat there Monday at campus I felt intimidated among the students as Satan was trying to discourage us. Most of them come from upper class families and seem to have everything. That night at home I read Psalm 73 where the author looks at the rich and wicked and for the first 16 verses wonders if they have it right...in v17 comes the kicker '..until I went into the sanctuary of God...' so Monday night I spent some good quality time with God and got ready for the battle the next day....

Tuesday morning we arrived and set up the table and for the past few days we've been busy handing out CDs (with articles from a Christian perspective, testimonies and games), Bibles, talking to students, sharing with them what Vida Estudiantil is and of course sharing JESUS... Using the table as a means of getting our name out among the students and drawing students to us, we were able to have alot of meaningful conversations with the students...definately one of the highlights was seeing Tricia lead a girl to Christ on Wednesday!

Another highlight was for me was talking to Enrique, a 3rd year student at Interamericana...I had met Enrique (and his crew of friends) last semester and God had placed him on my heart. So Tuesday I bought my lunch and asked him if I could sit down with him while I ate. As we talked a couple of students nearby were talking about our table and the fact that we were a Christian group. A girl then turned and asked Enrique was a Christian. When he said he was she started laughing and saying that there was no way he was. I then asked Enrique why he thought he was a Christian and what it meant. We were able to have a good conversation about religion and what it means to have a relationship with Jesus....pray that Enrique would truly turn to Jesus and have a meaningful and full relationship with him.

Sarah snapped a paparazzi shot of Enrique and I.

Our lovely team at the table

Overall our team is tired from a week's work, but excited because we know God is moving on the campus and in lives. Even just now I was encouraged as I received an e-mail from a student who grabbed a CD at our table and said they want to help us reach out to the students!!

So until next time blog, keep praying for Interamericana and the National campus as we start up there.
