Week 1

Dear Blog

Well we've just completed our first full week on Campus. I have to say it was a very encouraging week for me. I was reminded today of Mark 4:26-29:

26 Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. 28 The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 29 And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.”

Thursday aftenroon I met up with Bernie, a student who had been on and off involved with Vida Estudiantil last year. As we sat down and talked for a few minutes he poured out to me how much of an influence we have had on his life, his witness with his friends and his personal walk with the Lord. As I thought about it I realized that this is what the kingdom of God is. We plant, we sow, we water and God in His own way, in ways we don't understand and often times don't get to see, makes it grow and grow.

On another note I am legal in Panama for another 3 months. It seems I have found a permanent solution of simply renewing temporary visas....
