Around the world

Dear Blog

The past couple weeks I've been going back to the book of Colossians and been finding it above all else, very encouraging. One verse that has especially struck me is from Chapter 1, verse 6.

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understoof the truth about God's wonderful grace.

There is so much packed in to this verse that encourages me. First of all to read that the Good News is going out ALL OVER THE WORLD. The other week God encouraged me that the Word of God is not in chains. It is unbounded and moving!

I also love how it is BEARING FRUIT EVERYWHERE BY CHANGING LIVES. One of the fruits of the Good News is changed lives. I often think of my own life and just how much God has been constantly changing me and its a process that won't stop. Also I look around at the students around me and am amazed at how God is visibly changing their lives: realigning their priorities, giving them purpose, raising self esteem, giving them a vision to reach the world etc... The list goes on. Sometimes for me this is the most exciting part about being in the business of disciple-making...you can't measure the impact of a changed life. All of a sudden the girl who used to just want to get through university and get a job is telling her friends about Christ. The boy who could barely look you in the eye when he talked to you is walking up to strangers and standing in front of crowds and boldly telling them the of the love and life Jesus offers.

This week really has been a normal week. Talked to some students about Christ. Had a few Bible studies. Had a few meetings. But what has really encouraged me is that each of these things is a part of the advancement of the Good News around the world and a part of changing peoples lives...

Until Next time

Steve
