I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid - John 14:27 (NLT)
Yesterday was our monthly 'Day along with God'. A day each month we take during the week and spend it with God, whether that be enjoying his creation, reading his Word, praying etc... I spent the day mostly reading and praying. Through the day (somewhere between a coffee shop and a park) I really felt God telling me to accept his gift of peace of mind and heart. I like the way the NLT calls it the gift of peace, because like the gift of Salvation it is something that we need to accept in faith. I cannot enjoy Christ's peace of mind and heart unless I fully trust in Him.
I would say that reading this passage was also timely for me. Thursday I met up with the youth pastor from Crossroads and the conversation started like this:
'So the big question Steve, Sunday is February, you leave in July. What's next?'
The honest answer is that I have no idea. I'm not sure what God has in store for me but I feel He is telling me not to worry, to trust in Him, and just to seek His kingdom everyday.
One great thing about applying the Bible to your life is that it does change things. Last night (rather early this morning) I was talking to a friend in Canada via Skype and they commented how I looked well rested. The truth is I am, I am at peace.
That being said I'm looking forward to another busy week ahead! We will again be full time on the university, but despite being full time it always just feels like there isn't enough time! However I just need to live, rather rest, in the peace and strength of the Lord.
Until next time, enjoy these pictures from the recent premiere of Magdelena (an update of the Jesus film, as seen through the eyes of Mary Magdelene)
Steve

Bienvenidos!!
