Dear Blog
Today in our 'Min Prep' (a course we are going through as a team that touches on Theological and practical aspects of what we are doing) we did a brainstorm on verses that motivate us to evangelize. One that came to my mind again was Colossians 1:6
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. (New Living Translation)
It motivates me because it helps me see the big picture. The Gospel is an unstoppable force that is moving across the world and I am a part of that. It also motivates me because it says the fruit is "changed lives". This world needs more changed lives.
Last night us guys went to see "The Watchmen"...it was sick and we left partway through. On the taxi ride back we discussed a bit of what we had seen, and realized that although the movie was sick, it also showed that our world is in need of change. People's lives need to be changed. Its also a worldwide phenomenon, not just 'Hollywood'. Last week we had a chance to visit paradise as a team. We went to San Blas, a self governed Kuna comarca that consists of 365 white-sand palm tree fringed islands. Away from the modern world, the people there were still in need of changed lives.
Part of Colossians 1:6 also talks about "just as it changed your lives". It got me thinking, how is my life changing now? How is your life being changed right now? It is a very interesting question that I have been pondering this afternoon and will continue to ponder for a while....
Anyways just a few thoughts....enjoy some pictures of paradise below!
