Battlegound

Dear blog

On Wednesday when I was walking through the law faculty I was handed a flyer encouraging a protest aginst a number of things. Just before I discarded the flyer I noticed the bold letters at the bottom
'Without a fight, there will be no victory!'

As I read that I was reminded of Ephesians 5 and the armour of God - especially verse 12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

I was really reminded that I am in a battle, that I'm not simply just putting on events or talking to people etc... but that there is something much more at stake here. Further I was reminded that it is going to take a fight on my part...that victory won't come easily, but that we do have a helper....

AMEN brother... it is a battle... but I LOVE the talk I heard lately on David and Goliath.. man I always knew that David beat Goliath, and that he was the bigger guy and that God helped him.. but what I didn't realise is that what gave David the courage to step up against Goliath, was that Goliath was CHALLENGING THE LIVING GOD... "Who does this uncircumcised Philistine this he is? Does he think he can speak against the armies of the living God?" David was like.. come on guys are you seriously going to let him stand there and challenge our God.. he can't beat Him!! So let's go!
It's a challenge to me, when I am in class and they are moking God at the UofS...

I dunno. maybe this is one of those things that's like WOW to me and something you've heard a million times.. but I think it's fairly fantastic!! hehehe
