Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! It is hard for me to believe that I have now spent two Christmas' down here in Panama. Above all, I think I'm having another one of those 'time flies' moments. However on the other hand Christmas with Jon and the girls last year seems so far away.

Our celebrations for Christmas were great this year. Christmas Eve is the big day in Panama and we kept ourselves busy from morning until...well the next morning. Overall it was a more mellow time, but I really felt I spent some quality time with my friends and 'family' down here in Panama as I visited a couple of houses and church through the night.

Christmas day we celebrated Canadian Christmas (ie the 25th) with a brunch made by Lindsey, present opening in the afternoon and then Turkey Dinner made by Lindsey and yours truly. It was a really great time to spend as a Stint team family, and we all also managed to call our families. I felt that Christmas day was really special as the focus seemed to continually go back to Jesus, whether it was praying before and after opening gifts, reading the Christmas story or general conversation, we truly did celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Overall I have really enjoyed the past few days to relax and reflect. So here is wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
